NOVACAP is a US electronic capacitor manufacturing company, established in September of 1979. Founded by Dr. Andre P. Galliath, NOVACAP was a privately held business until 1987 at which time it was acquired by Dover Corporation. It is one of several subsidiaries of Dover Technologies, which includes companies such as Universal Instruments and DEK, major purveyors of equipment to the electronics industry. Dover Corporation is a publically held company and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
NOVACAP grew by supplying difficult to produce Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor (MLC) products to the aerospace, military, medical, telecommunications, computer, and automotive markets. Located originally in Burbank CA, NOVACAP moved in 1988 to its current facility in Valencia, California.
In 2000 NOVACAP acquired Syfer Technology Ltd., a UK manufacturer of specialty ceramic electronic components. Syfer is headquartered in Norwich, England and makes surface mount capacitors, EMI filters, and planar arrays.
